Pakistan and US to Collaborate on Combating Fake Visa Networks

Pakistan and the United States have agreed to enhance collaboration in police training and law enforcement agencies. This decision was made during a meeting in Islamabad on Saturday between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and US Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan Natalie Baker.

Both sides have agreed to conduct joint operations against fake visa networks using comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The meeting included detailed discussions on Pak-US relations and increasing cooperation in areas of common interest.

The discussions also focused on preventing illegal immigration and the effectiveness of the pre-immigration clearance system. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized a zero-tolerance approach towards the agent mafia and expressed appreciation for US support in this regard.

The Interior Minister personally oversees the actions against fake visa networks and mentioned that passports have been upgraded with modern technology to enhance security measures.

Highlighting the seriousness of illegal immigration, Naqvi stated that a rigorous crackdown is ongoing against individuals attempting illegal entry into the United States. He noted that due to effective government measures, illegal immigration has decreased by 47%, and those involved in fake documentation networks will face strict consequences.

During the meeting, the US Chargé d’Affaires reiterated the importance of US-Pakistan relations, stating that both countries share common priorities and increased mutual cooperation will bolster bilateral ties.
