Three members of a family tragically lost their lives, while three others sustained multiple injuries in a fatal road accident near Sahianwala police station in Faisalabad late last night. The incident occurred when a speeding car collided with an overturned tractor trolley loaded with sugarcane near Chak Jhumra Sahianwala Interchange.
Sheikh Adeel (42) and his two daughters, Hadia (8) and Ayesha (6), lost their lives at the scene, while Amima (12), Tahseen (42), and Ammara (45) suffered multiple injuries. The injured were promptly taken to Allied Hospital-I by Rescue 1122.
In a separate incident, seven individuals sustained burn injuries after a passenger van caught fire on Jaranwala Road near Central Jail, under the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station. The van, en route from Jaranwala to Faisalabad, caught fire due to a short circuit. Rescue teams swiftly responded to the emergency and managed to extinguish the flames.
Among the injured passengers were Sajida Bibi (50), Akram (55), Noor Fatima (17), Salman (27), Asif (45), Yousaf (75), and Taj Muhammad (42). While one individual received first aid at the scene, the remaining six were transferred to the burn unit at Allied Hospital-I for further medical attention.
Authorities, including the police, arrived at the site to initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the van fire incident.
