Abu Dhabi Police Arrest 45 Individuals for Misinformation and Filming Amid Iran Strikes

The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that its air defences intercepted hundreds of Iranian missiles and drones during escalating tensions in the Gulf.

In Abu Dhabi, police announced the arrest of 45 individuals, including foreigners, for spreading misinformation and filming event locations related to ongoing Iranian strikes.

The Abu Dhabi Police Criminal Investigation Department stated that the arrested individuals of various nationalities were accused of sharing inaccurate information on social media platforms, potentially inciting public opinion and spreading rumors within the community.

The UAE Ministry of Defence disclosed that since the onset of what it termed as "blatant Iranian aggression," the country's air defences had intercepted 285 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,567 drones.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to firmly confront any threats to the state's security while protecting its sovereignty, stability, and national interests.

The conflict has resulted in approximately 2,000 casualties, with most in Iran, as well as casualties in Lebanon and the Gulf, which is facing a frontline situation for the first time in decades of Middle East conflicts.

The ongoing war has displaced several million people, with Lebanon struggling to accommodate the influx of refugees seeking shelter in Beirut amid Israeli air strikes on the city's suburbs.
