Quetta blast leaves five dead, 20 wounded

At least five individuals were killed and over 20 others were wounded in a blast near Zarghoon Road in Quetta on Tuesday. The explosion, which was accompanied by intense gunfire, caused panic in the area.

Initially, police reports indicated three fatalities and more than a dozen injuries. However, the death toll was later revised to five, with Dr. Abdul Hadi, the Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Quetta, confirming the number of casualties. All those affected were civilians, and the injured are receiving medical treatment.

In response to the emergency, emergency protocols were activated at the Civil Hospital, Bolan Medical College (BMC), and the Trauma Centre, according to a spokesperson for the Health Department. Medical personnel, including consultants, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and paramedics, have been summoned to the hospitals.

Security sources have alleged that the attack was a suicide bombing carried out by Indian-sponsored terrorists known as Fitna al-Hindustan. They stated that all six terrorists, who were disguised as FC personnel, including the suicide bomber, were killed in the blast. Additionally, two FC personnel sustained injuries.

This is an ongoing situation, and further details are forthcoming.
